My Plays

So far ... More soon (ish)!

This is a brilliantly funny play called The Rivals, originally written by Richard Brinsley Sheridan in 1775. I have reworked the script into more understandable English without losing the overall feel of the play. It is still set in the original time for example.

The aim is to make this play much easier to learn for actors, and also much easier to understand for the audience.

However I have made a couple of changes to the story. The biggest change is the addition of a duel at the end because I just felt like it needed one and the character I chose to get shot annoyed me!

This play is all my own. It is a hilarious black comedy about the futility of war. Our heroes cannot understand how only one person out of 8 billion in this world has the ability to start and stop a war whenever he chooses, while the rest of the world's population watches on powerless.

So they dream up a scheme to get the world to sit down and stop the war. Do they succeed? Well, yes and no.  Laughs and twists abound as our heroes look for the answers that we are all looking for.

It's a comedy, but perhaps it has the potential to bring peace and happiness to mankind. Then again it might not, but I can dream.
